AUDITION INFORMATION |

|
The Children's Chorus is searching for children with a clear and pleasant singing voice, who can accurately match pitches, and love to sing. Auditions are held to give the directors an opportunity to meet each singer individually, to assess the singer's vocal abilities and musical development, and to determine which chorus they would be best suited. Auditions are by appointment only. Each audition will take approximately 5-10 minutes. It will be informal, no previous experience or preparation is required. Every effort will be made to help the child stay relaxed. The audition will be a positive experience for everyone. The audition will also consist of a short vocal warm-up with a focus on sound, posture, and breathing. We will also include exercises which will check the child's ability to match pitch and rhythm. A photo will be taken of each child, which will be used to help the directors place a face with a name. Audition results will be sent by letter within 2-3 weeks. Placement will be determined by musical and vocal readiness, emotional maturity, attitude, and an ability to focus.
